Kevin Barry’s Last Message
to His Mother
Barry (Kevin) A small Religious Card
with
a prayer to the Sacred Heart. On the back
is written: “To Mother from Kev on eve of
his death”, together with a memory card of
Kevin Barry in Irish, wearing sports jersey.
On the back are some verses and part of his
last message.
On the afternoon before his execution
Barry was visited by his mother, brother and
sisters. It was most likely on this occasion
that he handed this little card to his mother;
the handwriting appears to be that of his
favourite sister Kathy (“Kitby”).
A truly poignant memento. (2) €700 - 1000
