to “K.G. Barry, 1 Middle, Belvedere College,”
containing entries between 6 Sept 1917
and 23 May [1918] reporting on 53 scientific
experiments. The reports are written on
the right-hand pages, the diagrams and
accompanying text on the left. Some
notes are added by the teacher (Thomas
Counihan, S.J. who taught him Science and
Maths) occasionally commenting that the
notes are incomplete or the handwriting

October 1920, stating that he had been
born on 20 January 1902, the son of Tom
Barry, dairy owner, and Mary Barry, formerly
condemned to death and prior to his
execution on 1 November.
