Post Famine Letter From a Cork Parish Priest to a Cork Rector, 1849

Co. Cork: Letter written by Fr. Michael Begley, P.P., to Rev. Mr. Crofton,

Kinsale, 30 Oct., 1849, the writer asks for relief on the rent owed for

the ground on which the chapel is built at Ballingarry, and the houses

in which he holds a school, he stresses the reduced circumstances of

his parishioners owning to the late Famine - hence the impossibility of
