Co’s Tipperary & Kildare - 18th & 19th Century Deeds Five deeds
on vellum relating to property in the Town of Cashel and the lands of
Mooretown, Co. Kildare. ∑ Large indenture dated 1741/42 between
Arthur and Margaret Dobbs of Dublin, Thomas Hughes and Richard
Kyffin of Cashel, and the Rev. John Kearney. Cites a mortgage made in
1703 of Mooretown, Co. Kildare, by Patrick Sarsfield and his wife and
son to Richard Reddy of Dublin. Traces in great detail the progress of
this mortgage down to the present grant made by the Dobbs to Kearney.
∑ Four deeds dated 1772, 1792 and 1834 conveying property in John
St. Cashel and involving the families of Lockwood and Hemphill. These
documents contain much topographical information and illustrate the
complexities of land tenure in mid-18th century Ireland. A detailed list
