The Carton House Music Collection Music: A highly important Collection of 18th & 19th Century Irish, English & Continental Music, approx. 45 folio Volumes, including a comprehensive manuscript Index Volume to the collection. All in orig. hf. calf bindings, many with morocco labels of the Duke of Leinster, or Signed by him, and many with bookplates. It includes the music of Handel, Beethoven, Haydn, and lots of well known composers, some works dedicated to the Duke & Duchess of Leinster, some inscribed presentation copies, generally c. 1750-1860s. Each volume with multiple works, & includes Handel's Overtures, in 8 separate volumes. One volume contains five separate late 18th Century / early 19th Century complete works in manuscript. All in fine condition. * This constituted one of the largest collections of music from an Irish stately home to come on the market in recent times.
