(1) €200 - €300 832. 18th Century Russian School “The Birth of Jesus,”; “The Order of the Magi,” and various Saints, including Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Olympius, Queen Olga, Saint Alexandra, Saint Philip, and Saint Paul of Thebes,” tempera on wood, approx. 36cms x 30cms (14” x 12”); together with 18thCentury Russian School “The Persecuted Christ,” carved wooden relief, approx. 39.5cms x 26.5cms (15½” x 10½”). * St. Roch, was born in Montpellier in the 14th Century, a French nobleman and a Catholic Saint, patron of dogs, invalids etc. He gave all his wealth to the poor, and cared for plague victims, reportedly healing many with the sign of the cross, he is typically depicted here with a dog. €800 - €1000 834.
