87 Fonsie Mealy’s Est. 1934 814. Innocenzo Francucci "Innocenzo da' Imola" (Imola 1488 - Bologna c. 1545) “The Mystic Marriage of St. Catherine, with the Infant St. John the Baptist, and St. Jerome, c. 1520,” O.O.B., 76cms x 62cms (30” x 24 ½”). (1) A fine Italian Renaissance painting of the Madonna and Child surrounded by saints, this work, is characteristic of the period when Italian art was moving from the High Renaissance and entering the Mannerist period. The interplay of hands between the different figures adds to the painting’s appeal; it is very much a painting of touching, holding and demonstrative gestures. St Catherine is identified by her attribute, the wheel, John the Baptist carries a cross, while St. Stephen carries a stone. Peter Murray 2026 €7,000 - €9,000
