Scott-Parry, Mischa Elman, Stanley Cooke, etc. etc., many apparently performing at the Tivoli Theatre in Dublin, compiled by a Miss Evans. The album somewhat worn, with upper joint broken. (1) €100 - €150 769. Typescript: Castletown (Lord) A typescript of 4 pages, in brown wrapper, entitled ‘The Hunchback,’ telling how the Little People took away the hunchback’s hump. No signature. A binder containing fourteen original poems, mostly typescript with two manuscript, some signed or with m/ss. corrections, many of them about children or written in a child’s voice, some probably unpublished. The last poem here is dated Jan. 1 1916. A few sheets fragile and strengthened to rear. With a folder containing a printed copy of The Hearthstone, The Story Magazine of Ireland, Vol.1 no 3, July 1922, containing Florence Wilson’s best known work, the ballad “The Man from God Knows Where” (about the 1798 leader Thomas Russell). Florence Wilson published only one collection, The Coming of the Earls and Other Verse (Candle Press 1918). Kelly (James Plunkett) A pre-publication cyclostyled typescript of his Novel Strumpet City (here titled ‘The Strumpet City’), 671pp, apparently complete, dated at end April 1968, apparently sent to an American agent or publisher. Strumpet City was an enormous success worldwide when published here and in America in 1969; the television serial directed by Tony Barry for RTE was one of the best things the station has done.
