"Safely to Hand Yesterday" Collins (Michael) Aire Airgid, Dail Eireann, an original typescript Letter, dated 21st July 1920, issue to Mr. J.P. Cooney, Clonmel (Tipperary M.D.) on Dail Eireann, Dept. of Finance, Mansion House Paper, the letter acknowledges safe receipt for the sum of £255.5.0 (sterling) and also notes that the loan total is not far short of £320,000, signing off Do Chara, with manuscript bold signature in Irish 'Miceal O'Coilean,' as a m/ss. (1) * The Dail Loan Fund was regarded as a success, in the face of constant interference from British Authorities. €1,800 - €2,200 799. [Anglo Irish Treaty 1921] A large domed top canvas Luggage Trunk , with wooden straps, together with a leather Suitcase with initials A.L. (Alice Lyons), the other inscribed Nellie Lyons, (sister). The two suitcases were by family tradition used to store the important documents and files used during the Anglo Irish Treaty Negotiations in London in 1921, as secretaries to the delegation alongside Kathleen Mc Kenna. Fenian Rising 1867: Two rare American Issue ‘Irish Republic’ 10 dollar and 5 dollar Notes, from the Continental Bank, New York, with attractive engraved cartouches depicting typical motifs of Maid of Eireann, Harp and Hound, also Portraits of Wolfe Tone and Edward Fitzgerald, Signed by John O’Mahony, framed. Lord Powerscourt on the Irish Land Question A manuscript draft letter to the Times [London], Feb. 2 [18]87, in response to one from‘Ulsterman’ on Feb. 1st, in which Powerscourt argues that the Land Act of 1881 is still the basis of a solution. ‘I do not believe that all the tenants in Ireland wish to become owners’, etc. Four pp (single folded sheet), in a careless and difficult hand, with associated envelope. Laois: Indenture dated 7 September 1805 whereby the Irish statesman Henry Grattan (1746-1820) grants to William Dunn a lease for lives of a piece of ground in Vicarstown, Queen’s Co., on which he has erected a stone cabin. The tenant is to pay separately for his outhouses and garden, the amount being marked **. Signed by Grattan and with an endorsement in his hand dated 30 July 1813 stating “Tis intended by the parties to this indenture the blank so asterated ** should be filled up with the word peppercorn,” as a m/ss.
