(Cycling 1920) , A rare 9ct gold Celtic cross design Medal, the obverse with pierced design central harp and inscribed ‘Eire’ with ‘Cumman Luith gCleas Gaedheal,’ the reverse inscribed ‘8 Miles Cycling C’ship - Ireland, won by John Furling’, hall marked ‘John Miller’ (Dublin). Rare. (1) €2000 - €3000 989. 1927 G.A.A. International Hurling Championship Medal: G.A.A. (Hurling 1927) A rare 9ct gold Celtic Cross, the obverse engraved with ‘Eire’ and central harp overlay, with Coats of Arms, the reverse inscribed ‘G.A.A. International C’ship 1927. Hurling won by Meath,’ hallmarked, J.M. (John Miller, Dublin). Scarce. (1) Note: The 1927 All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship was the 10th staging of the All-Ireland Junior Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Limerick in the Munster first round. The All-Ireland final was played on 1 July 1928 at Dundalk Sportsfield, between Meath and Britain, in what was their first ever meeting in a final. Meath won the match by 2-03 to 1-01 to claim their first ever championship title, under the captaincy of L. Mitchell. €2000 - €3000
