43 Day 2 (Lots 407 – 899) Gillows Furniture for Lord Clonbrock, Co. Galway This important Collection of late Regency furniture forms part of an order supplied by Gillows of London to The Right Honourable Lord Clonbrock of Clonbrock, Ballinasloe, Ahascragh, Co. Galway. The bill dated June 1801, carefully details a comprehensive list of furniture, curtains, fabrics and an array of accompanying passementerie. The firm, in addition to their premises in Lancaster, operated from London from a premises on Oxford Street from 1769-1840. Although much of the contents of Clonbrock were sold at the 1976 auction conducted by Christies, Manson and Woods Ltd., some items were retained in the possession of Mr. Luke Dillon Mahon. It is from this collection that these items have originated.
