An attractive Georgian style mahogany and satinwood crossbanded Sofa Table, probably Hicks, with demi-lune flaps above a frieze with two drawers with ornate handles, with straight uprights, united by turned stretcher on outsplayed legs with hairy paw castors, approx. 152cms opened x 61cms deep x 74cms high (60” x 24” x 29”). A fine quality and unusual Irish George IV period, possibly Cork, mahogany breakfront Secretaire Bookcase or Estate Cabinet, with ornate reeded pediment over four glazed doors, each with two glass panels on a breakfront base with roped edge, the frieze drawer opening to reveal twenty-four sections each with label A-Z and a smaller drawer to either side, the left drawer lettered A-G and the right drawer with sections lettered H-Z, the lower long frieze drawer opening to reveal a secretaire, with section writing surface, pen and ink compartment and stationery section, above two rope moulded panel doors and flanked to either side with a rope moulded cupboard door with mock drawers panel, all raised on four spiral reeded and turned legs, 257cms h x 254cms w (101’’ x 100’’).
