A large terracotta bust of William Vincent Wallace, inventor of the Nocturne, born Waterford 1812, oval approx. 64cms x 51cms (25’ x 20’) mounted on a carved wooden board, approx. 106cms x 85cms. * The original maquette for a proposed bronze bust of the composer which was to be erected in1912, as part of the Centenary Celebrations in his native city Waterford. The money for the bronze bust was collected by public subscription, paid over to the sculptor, but the finished article was never delivered.
