Lady Eliz. Fox-Strangeways, daughter of the 2nd Earl of Ilchester, married in 1796, William Davenport Talbot and was the mother of pioneering photographer Wm. H. Fox Talbot of Lacock Abbey, Wiltshire. Talbot died in 1800, and in 1804 she married Rear-Admiral Charles Fielding, by whom she was the mother of Caroline (b. 1808) and Horatio (b. 1809). Thomas & Bessy Moore were neighbours and friends of the Talbots, and Moore requested Caroline to illustrate some of his works. A Fox Talbot photograph of 1844, perhaps the first photograph of an Irishman, features a group including Moore, with Horatia standing to his left.
