The ‘Historical Magazine’ of 1868 contains an article on the above volume, and fi nishes with the comment, ‘ The little volume is very neatly printed on tinted paper, and our old friend Mr. Campbell has shown great good taste in getting it up.’ Campbell had a very chequered career, and was a power-loom weaver by trade.
