Mass in D Minor for Three Voices, Composed by [Samuel] Webbe Snr, the Organ part added by Novello. Oblong quarto, 84 pp music staves, possibly lacking title page. With oval stamp at p.21 of Royal Hibernian Military School, Dublin, dated 11 Jan [18]81. Strongly bound in hf. calf, titled in gilt, gilt rules to spine, v.g. The Royal Hibernian Military School was established in 1766 in a handsome building in the Phoenix Park. It catered for the children of soldiers, and prepared boys for the British Army. One of its last graduates was Liam Mellows, whose father (a serving NCO) wanted him to get a good military training. It is possible that he might have used this book. In 1922 the School withdrew to Folkestone.
